Drawn to the intersection of storytelling and sound, mezzo-soprano Lily Bogas brings a nuanced, contemporary voice to the operatic stage, shaping performances that illuminate the complexity of human experience.

In the 2025–26 season, Lily begins her Master of Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she recently played the role of Dorothée in Massenet's Cendrillon. She will also sing her first Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina this coming Spring. She is also a two-time recipient of the Schmidt Vocal Arts Alumni Grant and will return to Colorado this summer as a Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artist with Central City Opera. Additionally, she will cover the lead role in the world premiere tour of The Dialogue of Memories by Tom Cipullo.

In 2025, Lily appeared as a Studio Artist at the Aspen Music Festival, where she covered the role of Dharuna in the world premiere of Siddhartha, Sheby Christopher Theofanidis, working under the mentorship of Renée Fleming and Patrick Summers.

Previous highlights include Anne in Jake Heggie’sTo Hell and Back with Eastman Opera Theatre and the title role in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. She has also performed with companies including West Edge Opera, Festival Opera, and the Miami Music Festival, and has appeared alongside artists such as Michael Feinstein, Darren Criss, Craig Terry, and Christine Goerke.

A graduate of the Eastman School of Music, Lily earned her bachelor’s degree in vocal performance under the tutelage of Robert Swensen. Beyond the stage, she is deeply engaged in arts administration and served as the Operations Assistant for the Merola Opera Program in their 2024/25 season.

In addition to her operatic career, Lily is a songwriter and co-founder of the jazz-pop group Seldon the Band, which has garnered over 100,000 streams on Spotify and performed around the country.
